Archbishop's Pastoral Letter to Bishops of the Anglican Communion
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has today sent a letter to the bishops of the Anglican Communion, setting out his personal reflections on the Lambeth Conference.

New Dean of Gibraltar announced
A Parish Priest with wide experience of ministry in the armed forces, in education and in parish ministry has been appointed as the next Dean of Gibraltar. 57 year old Dr John Paddock is currently Vicar of St Georges, Tuffley with St Margaret’s, Whaddon in Gloucestershire (UK) and hopes to take up his new post in mid December.

Archbishop of Canterbury praises Lambeth Palace Library's 'Back-a-Book' scheme
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams has praised the generosity of contributors to the ‘Back-a-Book’ scheme, which encourages members of the public to sponsor the repair of books in Lambeth Palace Library, the principal library and record office for the history of the Church of England.

Lambeth Conference: funding
The Board of Governors of the Church Commissioners, and the Archbishops' Council of the Church of England have both met within the past few days to discuss an approach from the Lambeth Conference Company* for financial help. The Board met this morning (August 11th) and the Council on Thursday August 7th.

Finances and the Lambeth Conference 2008

The 2008 Lambeth Conference involved the participation of some 680 bishops and 3000 participants overall. From Cathedral to parishes and volunteers all over the UK, support for 2008 meeting was indeed generous.
